ARTIST STATEMENT

Moments in nature that cause me to pause often become the inspiration for my work. I consider these quiet encounters gifts from nature that resonate with me emotionally and guide me back to the canvas to express the peace, beauty, or intrigue through painting.

My creative process begins with loose, gestural marks, followed by layers of acrylic paint and texture mediums. I work with brushes, palette knives, color shapers, and even my hands—adding and scraping away paint until a sense of balance emerges. This balance is not just a visual element, but a reflection of my intention to create harmony in my work and my life.

What began as a more literal exploration of sky and sea has evolved into a practice that blurs the line between the real and the imagined. Ultimately, I want my paintings to serve as invitations—moments of stillness where viewers can reconnect with the natural world.
